A people and organisational culture executive, Nelson has significant experience leading global transformations that unlock performance in organisations and their teams by embedding high-performing habits and behaviours and building cultures grounded in trust, purpose and inclusion.
Sport has played a transformational role in Nelson’s life. Growing up in modest circumstances in Kenya, a chance encounter while playing sport led to a generous grant from a benefactor and the opportunity to move to the UK to continue his studies and pursue his passion. That early experience became the catalyst for many of the opportunities that followed and helped shape his professional focus on levelling the playing field through diversity, equity and inclusion, social impact and culture change.
Nelson is the author of Rise of the 2020 Leader: Entering a New Era of Trust, Purpose and Inclusion, which has been featured as an Amazon bestseller in Leadership and Business Management.
Most recently, as Global Head of Culture and DE&I at Aesop, Nelson led the company-wide strategy across its People Commitments, including culture transformation, diversity, equity and inclusion, engagement and wellbeing.
Before Aesop, Nelson led the Global Organisational Culture Practice at North Highland, advising senior leaders and supporting major people transformation agendas. Earlier in his career, he spent a decade at Goldman Sachs in a range of leadership roles, including Head of Strategy and Change for the European asset management business, as well as leading several operations teams.
