Building young leaders in Rhyl

Earlier this month fifteen students from Rhyl College took an important step on their leadership journey, thanks to a new partnership between Triathlon Cymru and the Triathlon Trust. On 11 November the Triathlon Cymru development team delivered a Swim, Bike, Run Student Activator Course at Y Morfa Leisure Centre for Level 3 Public Services students, who must complete 200 hours of voluntary work as part of their qualification.

All fifteen students successfully completed the course and earned their Junior Activator certificates. The course also produced a bank of ready to use activity plans that will support future delivery in local primary schools. Plans are already under way for the next phase of the project, with Swim, Bike, Run sessions being scheduled at Rhyl High School and Rhyl Leisure Centre during the February half term.
